DC Fair Elections supporters celebrate after the bill's final passage at the DC Council.
After four long years of grassroots organizing, the DC Fair Elections Act unanimously passed it’s second DC Council vote on Tuesday, February 6.

After four long years, we finally got the Fair Elections Act over the finish line, with the bill to bring public financing to District elections finally passing it’s second Council vote on Tuesday, February 6!

After the climactic vote, the At-Large Council and Council Chair Candidate Forum was a huge success. The event was co-hosted by DC4D and several partner organizations at the Women’s National Democratic club. More than 300 attendees joined to see At-Large Council candidates Marcus Goodwin, Aaron Holmes, Jeremiah Lowery and Council Chair candidates Ed Lazere and Phil Mendelson in the first candidate forum of the 2018 election season. At-Large Council incumbent Anita Bonds had confirmed to attend, but communicated at the last minute that she would not be coming.

Video from the event can be found below.
